Disclaimer: Margin Trading Facility is an independent, standalone informational tool and is not operated by, or affiliated with, NSE, BSE, or any brand. It does not provide investment advice, research recommendations, or buy/sell calls.
Data sources — NSE direct, no relay: Every MTF and price figure on this site is fetched, server-side, directly from the National Stock Exchange's own published files — no third-party data provider sits in between. Specifically: NSE's daily "Margin Trading Disclosure" report (outstanding amount financed per stock, plus the whole-market fresh exposure/exposure-liquidated/net-outstanding totals NSE itself publishes), and NSE's own daily Bhavcopy for closing prices. "7D", "30D" etc. mean N NSE trading sessions, not calendar days.
What that trade-off costs: this site keeps no database — every number above is recomputed from NSE's own archived files on each request, and that archive only goes back roughly a year. So there's no multi-year book-history chart, no peak/trough-since-2021, and sector grouping uses a hand-maintained map (NSE's own files don't carry a sector field) rather than an official taxonomy. BSE is not yet included — no publicly reachable, unauthenticated BSE endpoint for this report was found; NSE alone represents the large majority of India's MTF book. Company logos aren't pulled from anywhere — there's no official NSE/BSE logo feed, so this uses plain initials avatars instead of a third-party image source.
Data is end-of-day and typically lags the live market by one trading day (NSE requires MTF reporting by 6 PM T+1); it is not real-time. Broker terms and news headlines are a curated, dated snapshot compiled from each broker's and publisher's own public pages — not a live feed. For authoritative, official figures, always cross-check against nseindia.com and bseindia.com directly.
Margin Trading Facility involves borrowing to buy securities and carries a high degree of risk, including the risk of losses exceeding your original investment, forced square-off of positions, and ongoing interest costs. MTF is available only on exchange-notified Group 1 securities and is subject to SEBI and exchange regulations, which may change from time to time.
Investments in the securities market are subject to market risks. Please read all related documents carefully, understand the risks involved, and consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser before trading on margin. Past trends are not indicative of future performance.
This data is also available as a free, open, CORS-enabled JSON API — anyone can build on top of it, provided they credit "Margin Trading Facility" with a link back wherever it's shown.
